AIDS is acquires immune deficiency syndrome it is transmitted by a virus called humman immunodeficiency virus ( HIV).and mainly t-lymphocytes which are the major component of immune system are affected.this results faliure in immune system thus person is susceptible to other diseases. HIV is host specific.and is transmitted by intimate sexual contact, contact with blood and breast feeding.during professional activities to healthcare workers.
