So his son would be (64- x ) years old.
8 years ago age of Mr. late = x -8 years
and age of his son 8 years ago is = 64-x-8
=56-x years
As 8 years ago Mr late was 3 times than his son.
Hence. (x - 8) =3*( 56 -x )
=> x -8 =168 -3x
=> 4x = 176
=> x =44 years
Mr late is 44 years old in present.
