Let the original amount with Mr. Mehra = x
Money given to son = 1/3 x
Money given to daughter = 1/5 x
Money given to wife (the remaining amount) = Rs. 91,000.
Now, as per question
1/3 x + 1/5 x + 91000 = x
8/15 x + 91000 = x
91000 = x- 8/15x
91000 = 7/15 x
91000 * 15/7 = x
Hence, x = 195000 which is the original amount that Mr. Mehra had.
