Mr. Mehta is six times as old as sunil.. after 6 years, he will be three times as old as sunil.. what is the present age of Mr. mehta?

let sunil's present age be'x'
therefore mr.mehta's present age=6x
sunil's age after 6 years=(x+6)years
mr.mehta's age after 6 years=(6x+6)years
so..according to question,
6x+6=3 (x+6)
=>6x+6=3x+18
=>6x-3x=18-6
=>3x=12
=>x=12/3
=>x=4
hence mr.mehta'spresent age =6x=6×4=24years

Let Mr Mehta's age be x

Sunil's age be y

Therefore acc. To question

6y=x _____(1)

After six year

Mr Mehta's age will be ( x+6)

Sunil age will be (y+6)

Therefore according to question ,

3(y+6)=(x+y)

3y + 18=x+y

2y+18=x______(2)

From equation (1) from (2)

2y=x-18

-6y=x

-4y=-18

y= -18/-4

Y=4.5

Now put the value of y in equation (1)

6y=x

6×4.5=27

Hence, Mr Mehta's present age is equal to 27 years
