Let the C.P. of the watch be ₹a.

Loss % = 5%

Therefore, Loss = 5% of ₹a

= ₹a/20

Therefore, SP = CP - Loss = ₹(a-a/20)

= ₹19a/20

Now, Gain % = 8%

Therefore, Gain = 8% of ₹a

= 8a/100

= 2a/25

New SP = ₹(a+2a/25)

= 25a/25+2a/25

= 27a/25

It is given that the difference between the original SP and the new SP is ₹104.

Therefore,

 \frac{27a}{25} - \frac{19a}{20} = 104 \\ \frac{(27a \times 4) - (19a \times 5)}{100} = 104 \\ \frac{108a - 95a}{100} = 104 \\ \frac{13a}{100} = 104 \\ 13a = 104 \times 100 \\ a = \frac{104 \times 100}{13} \\a = 800

Hence, the CP is ₹800

And, the SP is ₹ (800-19*800/20) i.e. ₹760
