Given,

Mr. nene received money after selling shares = Rs. 430272

The market price of one share  = Rs. 720

Brokerage rate = 0.4%

To FInd,

The number of shares she sold =?

Solution,

Let the total price of sold shares be x

The total price of sold shares  = Money Mr. Nene received + brokerage charges

x = Rs. 430272  +  0.4% of x

x =  430272  +  (0.4/100 )*x

x =  430272  +  4x / 1000

x - 4x / 1000 = 430272

(1000x - 4x) / 1000 = 430272

996x = 430272 * 1000

x = 1000 *(430272 / 996)

x = 432 * 1000

x = Rs. 432000

The total price of sold shares = Rs. 432000

Cost of 1 share = Rs. 720

Number of shares she sold =  432000 / 720

Number of shares she sold =  600 shares

Hence, the number of shares she sold is 600.
