He exchanged his housing site for the same area!

So the area didn't change at all!

The area of square equals to '140 × 140 m²'.

Let the breadth be x.

The area of the rectangle equals to '180x m²'.

Let's solve the equation.

180x = 140 × 140

x = (140 × 140) / (20 × 9)

x = (7 × 7 × 20) / 9

x equals to '980 / 9'.

The breadth is 980 / 9.

Answer:

Area of a square = 140× 140 m^2

Let breadth (b) = x

Area of a rectangle = 180x m^2

Now:

180x=140×140

=>x= (140×140) / (20×19)

=>x= 19600/380

=>x=14×14/19×19

x=7×7×20/9

980/9 => breadth
