Step-by-step explanation:

The overall area of the farm = 216 sq. m

s2 = 216 sq. m

s = √216 m

= 14.7 m

Total length of the fencing = 4 s

= 4×14.7

= 58.8 m

nearest about 60 m

  • 60 m .

Complete Question :- Mr . Rajbeer Singh retired from his defense service started a farm nearby the jungle . The overall area of the farm is 216 sq: m . Very often his crops were damaged by wild animals. So he fenced his farm using Tin sheets .

What is the total length of the fencing if in lengthwise 18m tin sheet is used for the fencing ?

(a) 20m

(b) 40m

(c) 60m

(d) 80m

Formula used :-

  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth .
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

Solution :-

Let us assume that, the breadth of the farm is equal to x m .

since, in lengthwise 18m tin sheet is used for the fencing .

So,

→ Length of the farm = 18 m

then,

→ Area of the farm = Length × Breadth = 18 × x = 18x m²

A/q,

→ 18x m² = 216 m²

→ 18x = 216

→ 18x = 18 × 12

dividing both sides by 18,

→ x = 12 m

therefore,

→ Length of farm = 18 m

→ Breadth of farm = 12 m

hence,

→ The total length of the fencing = Perimeter of farm

→ The total length of the fencing = 2(Length + Breadth)

→ The total length of the fencing = 2(18 + 12)

→ The total length of the fencing = 2 × 30

→ The total length of the fencing = 60 m (c) (Ans.)

Hence, The total length of the fencing is equal to (c) 60 m .
