Let, speed of Ramesh be x and speed of current be y.

→ x + y = 20 kmph

→ y = 5 kmph

{According to given}

→ x + y = 20

→ x + 5 = 20

→ x = 20 - 5

→ x = 15 kmph

Now, for Ramesh’s speed against the current.

Let, Ramesh’s speed against the current be z .

z = x - y

z = 15 - 5

z = 10 kmph

Hence, Ramesh’s speed against the current is 10 kmph.
