AFTER 4 YEARS.
Y+4 = X+22. ----- eqn 2.
So, from 1st equation we have Y=3X
and from 2nd equation we have Y+4 = X+22.
Put value of Y from equation 1 in equation 2,
(3X)+4=X+22
3X-X=22-4
2X=18
X=9 (This is the current age of son)
Again, from equation 1 we had,
Y=3X
Therefore, Y=3x9 = 27 yrs.
Therefore,
Current age of son = 9yrs.
