Mr Sahai and his wife are both school teachers and earn ? 16800 and 10500 per mone
respectively. Find the ratio of
(1) Mr Sahai's income to his wife's income:
(11) Mrs Sahai's income to her husband's income;
(111) Mr Sahai's income to the total income of the two,​

Solution

(i) The ratio of Mr Sahai's income to his wife's income would be ⇒

⇒ 16800 : 10500

⇒ 168 : 105

⇒ 8 : 5

∴ The ratio of Mr Sahai's income to his wife's income is 8 : 5

(ii) The ratio of Mrs Sahai's income to her husband's income would be ⇒

⇒ 10500 : 16800

⇒ 105 : 168

⇒ 5 : 8

∴ The ratio of Mrs Sahai's income to her husband's income is 5 : 8

(iii) The total income of Mr and Mrs Sahai ⇒ 16800 + 10500 = 27300

Mr Sahai's income to the total income of the two would be ⇒

⇒ 16800 : 27300

⇒ 168 : 273

⇒ 8 : 13

∴ The ratio of Mr Sahai's income to the total income of the two is 8 : 13
