Given :

Mr. Sanchez bought 2 magazines for $9.95 each and 1 book for $14.95.

Sale tax is 6%.

To Find :

The total cost of Mr. Sanchez's purchase.

Solution :

The cost of 2 magazines for $9.95 each = 9.95 × 2

                                                                   = $19.90

The cost of another book  = $14.95

Total cost  of books  = $19.90 + 14.95

                                       = $34.85

Sale tax on purchase = 6% of $34.85

                                   = 0.06 × 34.85

                                   = $2.09

Total cost of purchase = $34.85 + 2.09 = $36.94

The total cost of Mr. Sanchez's purchases is $36.94.
