lets assume after 26 steps, the steps left in escalator are a.
so escalator take 30 sec. to cover a steps.
a/30 sec. to cover 1 step.
now after 34 steps, the steps will be left = a-8
escalator takes 18 sec. to cover a-8 steps.
(a-8)/18 sec. to cover 1 step.
we can say
a/30 = (a-8)/18
a = 20
so total no. steps in escalator 26+20= 46
so escalator take 30 sec. to cover a steps.
