candies among them in the ratio 5 : 7. He brought another pack of candies and distributed
the candies again such that Akshay took 35 candies and Vinay took 25 candies then both
the boys have equal number of candies. How many candies did each boy have at first?

Step-by-step explanation:

no of candies in a packet:35+25=60(sum of candies that alshay and vinay took at the second time)

no of candies the boys had at first=5:7

Let 5:7 be 5x and 7 be 7x.Then,

5x+7x=60

12x=60

x=60÷12

x=5

So

No of candies Akshay had at first =5x=5×5=25

No of candies Vinay had at first=7x=7×5=35
