Given :-

• Mr Sharma earns rupees 20,000 a month

• His salary is increased by 15%

Solution :-

Let the new salary be x

Mr Sharma earns = Rs20,000

Now,

His salary increased by = 15%

Therefore,

According to the question,

x = 20000+ 15/100 * 20000

x = 20000 + 15 * 200

x = 20000 + 3000

x = 23000

Hence, The new monthly salary of Mr Sharma will be 23,000 .

Formula to calculate to % or convert given value into %

  • x% /100 * Total = x

  • x/ Total * 100 = x%
