300+3200= 40% of his income
that means 40%= 3500

if 40% = 3500
then, 100% = x

x = 3500* 100/40

x = 8750

3200+300is his40% of his total income
let the total income be X
then
40/100×X=3500
X=3500×100/40
350000/40
8750 is his total income
