Mr Sherlock Holmes
M
r Sherlock Holmes was seated with his back
towards me at the breakfast table. I stood on
the rug and examined the stick our visitor had left behind
the night before. It was a fine, thick piece of wood, bulbous-
headed. Under the head was a broad silver band, with 'To
James Mortimer, M.R.C.S., from his friends of the C.C.H., 1884.'
engraved on it.
'Well, Watson, what do you make of it?'
'How did you know what I was doing? You seem to have
eyes at the back of your head!'
'I have, a well-polished, silver-plated tea-pot in front of
me,' said he. 'Unfortunately we have missed our visitor
and have no idea of his purpose, so this souvenir becomes
important. Let me hear you describe the man by an
examination of it.'

Well nice story. It is from Sherlock Holmes book series written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The narrator here is Dr. Watson who is holmes' friend and companion.
