first she was having 18 cups of ice cream. ..
and in the evening she was having 36
now its process. ........
total no. of cups = 54
no. of cups he sold in the morning =3/9 = 3/9×54=18
: no. of ice creams she sold in the morning = 18
no. of ice cream she sold in the evening = 54-18=36

he sold 18 cups in the morning and 36 cups in the afternoon
no of cups in total=54
so 54 divided by 9=6
one part =6
so 3 parts = 3x6 = 18
to find the rest simply subtract 18 from 54
so 18-54 =36
so a) 18  b)36
