Given :  Mr Smith realized that his roll of wire that should be 50m in length is missing 5% of its length.

To Find : The amount of wire Mr Smith received.

Solution:

Expected length of roll of wire = 50 m

Missing  length = 5 %

Missing Length = (5/100)50  = 5/2   = 2.5 m

Amount of wire Mr Smith received. = 50 - 2.5 m

=> Amount of wire Mr Smith received. = 47.5  m

The amount of wire Mr Smith received is 47.5 m
