Mr Sona babu builds a room measuring roof 22 m by 20 m. He also builds a cylindrical tank having diameter of base 2 m and height 3.5 m adjoining the room to collect the rainwater of roof for harvesting. If the tank is just filled with rainwater, find the rainwater in cm. What values are depicted in Sona babu's plan?

Solution :-

Diameter of the cylindrical tank = 2 m

Radius = 2/2 = 1 m or 100 cm

Height of the tank = 3.5 m = 350 cm

Volume of the cylindrical tank = πr²h

⇒ 22/7*100*100*350

⇒ 77000000/7

= 11000000 cu cm

So, volume of the rainwater is 11000000 cu cm.

This shows that Mr. Sona Babu is very concerned about problem of water scarcity we are facing right now in future also. So better to conserve it for the generations to come.
