The observation of raisin will be -

  • When raisin is kept in Beaker A, which contain hypotonic sugar solution, the raisin will swell. The process of endosmosis occurs, resulting in swelling of raisin.
  • When raisin is kept in Beaker B, which contain hypertonic sugar solution, the raisin will shrink. The process of exosmosis causes loss of water from raisin resulting in its shrinking.
