Mrs. Anita observed that her cooking utensils are becoming black in colour and the flame of her gas stove is yellowish in colour.

What can be the reason for this sooty flame.

How is this problem harmful for our environment? What steps should be taken to stop this process.

The gas is burning with a sooty flame because LPG coming out of the cylinder is not burning properly.

Sooty flame release carbon monoxide which is a poisonous gas and sooty flame also release a lot of unburnt carbon particles which make utensils black.

This can be stopped by regularly checking the burner holes, cylinder valve and connecting pipe. And cleaning them if nedded.
