Answer:

Here goes the solution!

Let the bonus received by Bhavnani be x.

The amounts received by the children will be,

Daughter = 1/2x + 10000

Son = 1/3x + 3000

As we can see, the amount received by the son is half the amount received by the daughter.

Son's share = 1/2(1/2x + 10000)

= 1/4x + 5000

Equating to son's share,

1/4x + 5000 = 1/3x + 3000

5000 - 3000 = 1/3x - 1/4x

2000 = 1/12x

Multiplying both sides by 12,

x = 12 × 2000

x = 24000

Hence, the bonus received by Mrs. Bhavnani is Rs. 24000
