Let the price of coat excluding tax be = x

Using the formula -  

P + 18/100P = 885

Therefore,

P ( 1 + 18/100) = 885

P. 118/100 = 885

P = 885 x 100/ 118

P = 750

REduction needed = Old price - New price

= 885 - 750

= 135
