To find : present age of Mrs. Goel and Rekha  

Given : Mrs. Goel is $27$ years older than her daughter Rekha.  

Solution :

• Let , Rekha's present $x$ and Mrs. Goel present age be $x + 27$  
• As per the given data we are given that Mrs goel is $27$ years older than her daughter Rekha. After $8$ years she will be twice as old as Rekha.  Therefore , we write given condition as ,

• After $8$ years , Rekha's age =  $x + 8$

           Mrs. Goel's age = $x+ 27 + 8$

        $\begin{array}{l}2(\mathrm{x}+8)=\mathrm{x}+27+8 \\2 \mathrm{x}+16=\mathrm{x}+35 \\\mathrm{x}=19\end{array}$

• Therefore , Rekha's age is $19$ years .
• Mrs. Goel's age = $x + 27 = 19 + 27 = 46$ years .  

Hence , present age of Rekha and Mrs. Goel is $19$ and 46 respectively .
