MRS.Jain is 27 years older than nilu.after 8 years she will be twice as old as nilu .find their present ages.

Let :-

Present age of Nilu = x

Present age of Mrs Jain = y

After 8 years :-

Age of Nilu = x + 8

Age of Mrs Jain = y + 8

According to the first condition :-

$\longrightarrow \sf y = x+27 \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ ....................(1)$

According to the second condition :-

$\longrightarrow \sf 2(x+8) = y+8 \\\\\longrightarrow 2x+16 = y + 8 \\\\\longrightarrow 2x-y = -8 \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ ....................(2)$

Substitute the value of y in eq (2) :-

$\longrightarrow \sf 2x - (x+27) = - 8 \\\\\longrightarrow 2x-x-27 = -8 \\\\\longrightarrow 2x-x = -8+27 \\\\\longrightarrow \bf x = 19$

Substitute x = 19 in eq (1) :-

$\longrightarrow \sf y = 19+27 \\\\\longrightarrow \bf y =46$

Present age of Nilu = 19 years

Present age of Mrs Jain = 46 years
