Given:-

Total quantity of sugar that she got 5 kg

Explaination:-

She got two 1/4 kg packets.

So quantity bought = 2 x 1/4 = 1/2 kg

The rest she go in 1/2 kg packets.

Let the total number of 1/2 kg packets be p

According To Question:-

1/2 + 1/2p = 5

p/2 = 5 - 1/2

p/2 = 9/2

\large{\tt{\boxed{p = 9}}}

Therefore, she got 9 packets of 1/2 kg.

Correct Question :

Mrs Kapoor went to buy 5 kg of suger.She got two 1/4kg packet of sugar.The rest of the sugar she bought in 1/2kg packet.How many packet Mrs. Kapoor bought of 1/2kg?

AnswEr :

Let the number of Packets purchased by Mrs. Kapoor be n.

According to the Question Now :

⇒ Packets of (1/4 kg + 1/2 kg) = 5 kg

⇒ (2 Packet of 1/4) + (n Packet of 1/2) = 5

⇒ ( 2 × 1 /4 ) + ( n × 1 /2 ) = 5

⇒ 1 /2 + n /2 = 5

⇒ (1 + n) /2 = 5

⇒ (1 + n) = 5 × 2

⇒ (1 + n) = 10

⇒ n = 10 - 1

n = 9

Mrs. Kapoor will buy 9 packets of 1/2kg.
