Given:

Mrs Lim mixed 3.7 l of water with 1.4 l of orange syrup to make an orange

She poured all the drink into some glasses of capacity 300 ml each.

To find:

How many  glasses did she use?

Solution:

Quantity of water used = 3.7 L

Quantity of orange syrup used = 1.4 L

∴ The total quantity of orange juice made by Mrs. Lim = 3.7 + 1.4 = 5.1 L

The capacity of each glass = 300 ml = \frac{300}{1000} L = 0.3 L

Now,

No. of glasses used is,

= \frac{Total\:quantity \:of \:juice}{Capacity\:of\:each\:glass}

= \frac{5.1}{0.3}

= \frac{51}{3}

= \bold{17}

Thus, Mrs. Lim used 17 glasses to pour all the drink.
