Given:

  • Mrs. Onusko made 60 cookies
  • She sold 2/3 of the cookies
  • She gave 3/4 of the remaining to the students.

To find:

  • How many cookies did she have left?

Solution:

Based on the information above, first we are going to calculate the number of cookies that were sold:

  \sf{\frac{2}{3}  \times 60 =  \frac{120}{30}  = 40 \: cookies}

so the remaining cookies would be:

= total cookies made - total cookies sold

= 60-40 = 20 cookies

Mrs. Onusko gave 3/4 of the remaining cookies to the students:

 \sf{ \frac{3}{4}  \times 20 = 15 \: cookies}

So, now the number of cookies left:

20 - 15 = 5 cookies

 \sf{ \green{Hence \: 5 \: cookies \: are \: left}}

Hope this helps you Shoto Todoriki!!
