Yes , Mrs. Packeltide's tiger is a satire. The author has very well showed the unhealthy competition in the world with the people and their so called friends. Having competition between friends is possible to some extent but once we cross the limits we have to bear the consequences . There is a bad attitude called eho, which enables every person to this type of things, money mindedness., fame, respect, in the modern world has become the main aim of the people. They don't care of the consequences and do whatever they feel like . Therefore the whole situation of a tiger hunt is a satire.
