( a ). The villagers were gladly conned at the fiction because they were going to be paid by the Mrs. Packletide after the shoot of the tiger. So, it doesn't matter for them which one was shot , a tiger or a goat , the thing which matter for them was the Money ( 1000 RUPEES) . So, they gladly connived at the fiction.
