Mrs Pumphrey is representative of women who, for lack of anything better to do, end up doing more harm than good by being over-indulgent.She was a rich lady as she pampered the dog so much. There were different sorts of clothes, even for the dog, for different occasions. He had many sorts of special bowls for his food. She would feed her dog with brandy and eggs which are costly.
