Mrs Razdan wants to use tiles of length 20 cm
and breadth 10 cm to cover the floor of her
balcony shown in the figure. What is the area
of the balcony? How many tiles does she
need to buy (1 sq m = 10,000 sq cm)?​

Area of rectangle 1 =l×b

=4×2=8 sq m

Area of rectangle 2 =lxb

=6x2=12sq m

Area of figure=8+12=12sq m

Area of tile=lxb

=20cmx10cm

=200sq cm

No. of tile=20x10000

One zero of 1000 cut by200zero and 200 now is 20 so, 20is cut by 20

So, now our answer is 1000
