the age of the daughter is considered as x the mother is five times elder to her daughter so it is 5x . after six years she becomes 3 times older than her daughter therefore to equalize we take 5x +6

Let the daughter's age be x yrs
Mrs. Sachdeva's present age=5x yrs
Six years later,
daughter's age=x+6 yrs
Mrs. Sachdeva's age= 3(x+6)
by the problem,
3(x+6)=5x+6
2X=12
X=6
Mrs. Sachdeva's age= 5x=30 yrs
Mrs. Sachdeva's present age=5x yrs
Six years later,
daughter's age=x+6 yrs
