Given :- Ms. Enriquez invested Php42,000.00, part at 4% and the rest at 7%, to make a yearly interest equal to 5% of Php 42,000.00. How much must she invest at 7% .

Solution :-

Let us assume that, Ms. Enriquez invested php x at 7% .

so,

→ Amount she invested at 4% = php(42000 - x) .

A/q,

→ SI at x at 7% + SI at (42000 - x) at 4% = SI at 42000 at 5% .

so,

→ (x * 7/100) + (42000 - x)*4/100 = (42000 * 5)/100

→ 7x + 42000 * 4 - 4x = 42000 * 5

→ 3x = 42000*5 - 42000*4

→ 3x = 42000(5 - 4)

→ 3x = 42000

→ x = php14000.00 (Ans.)

Hence, Ms. Enriquez invested php14000.00 at 7% .
