Mudguards are provided on the front and the rear wheels of scooter or cycle too. Why?​

The mudguards are used in vehicles to remove the muds sticking onto the wheels of the vehicles. Due to inertia of direction, the mud sticking to the wheels of a vehicle flies off tangentially when the wheels rotate.

Mudguard : Mudguard is a tool which is fixed to front and rear tires of a cycle or motor bike . They are used to stop it from throwing off mud, water , small stones or objects from the road. If small sharp objects on the road stuck in the tire it makes a punchur it cost approximately 60₹ for bike & sports cycle .

  • In olden days there would be only cycles for cycles they use iron or steel round mudguards.
  • Nowadays , iron gets rusted so we are using stylish mudguards made up of fibre or plastic .
  • Mudguards are also known as fenders & wings
