Farrukhabad is the district which is present in the state of Uttar Pradesh with a lot of history.
Mughal emperor Aurangzeb who ruled over this region during 1659-1707 was well aware of the qualities of the river Ganga.
Reason:
The holy water of ganga showed many disease resistant qualities and hence he wanted to conserve it.
He built the Mughal ghat of Farrukhabad so that the sacred river is conserved and the people can make the best use of the holy water.
