Farrukhabad is the district which is present in the state of Uttar Pradesh with a lot of history.
Mughal emperor Aurangzeb who ruled over this region during 1659-1707 was well aware of the qualities of the river Ganga.
Reason:
- The holy water of ganga showed many disease resistant qualities and hence he wanted to conserve it.
- He built the Mughal ghat of Farrukhabad so that the sacred river is conserved and the people can make the best use of the holy water.
