Given Data:

Mukul was said to multiplied a number by 8/9 but he divided by 8/9 and the result was 34 more than the actual result

To Find:

the number

Solution:

The equation according to the question are

let the number said by mukul be 'x'

and the number answer for mukul question be 'y'

x \div  \frac{8}{9}  = y - 34------(i)

x - y =  - 34 \times  \frac{8}{9}

x - y =   \frac{ - 272}{9}

x =   \frac{9y  - 272}{9} ----------(ii)

substitute (ii) in (i)

(  \frac{9y - 272}{9})  \div  \frac{8}{9}  = y - 3

 \frac{9y - 272}{9} =  \frac{8y - 24}{9}

9y - 272 =  \frac{8y - 24}{9}  \times 9

9y - 272 = 8y - 24 \\ 9y - 8y = 272 - 24 \\

y = 248--------------(iii)

substituting (iii) in (i)

x \div  \frac{8}{9}  = 248 - 34

x \div  \frac{8}{9}  = 214

x = 214 \times  \frac{8}{9}

x =  \frac{1712}{9}

therefore, the number said by Mukul is

 \frac{1712}{9}
