Multicellular organisms are made of many different cells. Each cell has a different shape that allows it to perform a specific task in order to contribute towards the overall function of the organism. Specialized cells in multicellular organisms are needed simply because of their sizes!

Answer:

Different cells throughout the body perform different functions. To perform these functions, they need different shapes and size. They all have the same DNA, but different blueprints are activated depending on where they are in the body. If all the cells will be of same shape or size, it will be very difficult for multicellular organism including human beings to adapt better to the environment and survive.
