Multiplicative inverse :-

  • it is also known as reciprocal

  • the Multiplicative inverse is just a different fraction, with the numbers "flipped" upside down (inverted)

  • for example reciprocal of 8/4 is 4/8

Question -

Multiplicative inverse of 4 upon minus 7

Solution -

first we have to change the minus sign,

 \dfrac{4}{ - 7}  \times  \dfrac{ - 1}{ - 1}  =  \dfrac{ - 4}{7}

now reciprocal of  \dfrac{ - 4}{7}

⟹ \dfrac{  - 7}{4}
