Multiplying 13 and 25 by the Russian multiplication method, the answer is 351.

Russian method of multiplying is different from the usual multiplication method.

The given problem is 13 * 25:

Step 1:

Divide the right column by 2, until the remainder is 1.

Step 2:

Double the right column digits.

Solution for step 1&2:

25(Left)                                   13(Right)

25/ 2 = 12                               13 * 2 = 26

12/2  =  6                                26 * 2 = 52

6/2 = 3                                   52 * 2 = 104

3/2 = 1

In the Russian method, the right column should be doubled. In the given question, they have asked to triple.

Therefore,  tripling the right column will give,

25(Left)                                     13(Right)

25/ 2 = 12                              13 * 3 = 39

12/2  =  6                               39 * 3 =  117

6/2 = 3                                  117 * 3 = 351

3/2 = 1

Step 3:

The even number on the left has to be a strikeout.

25(Left)                                      13(Right)

25/ 2 = 12(×)                            13 * 3 = 39

12/2  =  6(×)                              39 * 3 =  117

6/2 = 3                                      117 * 3 = 351

3/2 = 1

(×) = striked out lines.

Step 4:

Add the right column numbers.

There is only one number left = 351

Therefore the answer is 351.
