Reciprocal: A number we multiply to get the number 1 is known as a reciprocal.

To get the reciprocal of a number, we divide 1 by the number.

1 / \frac{-4}{5} = 1*\frac{-5}{4} = \frac{-5}{4}

∴ Reciprocal of \frac{-4}{5} is \frac{-5}{4}.

Now we have to multiply \frac{2}{3} and \frac{-5}{4}.

\frac{2}{3} *\frac{-5}{4}

(Both the methods of multiplying rational number is appropriate you can choose anyone.)

Method 1:

Directly multiply the numerator and denominators and later simply it into its lowest form.

\frac{2}{3} *\frac{-5}{4} =\frac{-10}{12} =\frac{-5}{6}

Method 2:

Simplify the numerators and denominators and then multiply.

\frac{2/2}{3}*\frac{-5}{4/2}  = \frac{1}{3}*\frac{-5}{2} =\frac{-5}{6}

∴ When we multiply \frac{2}{3} by the reciprocal of \frac{-4}{5} we get \frac{-5}{6}.
