The answer is 2 .

You can do this in (at least) two ways:

Method 1: Combine and multiply radicands

2–√∗2–√

=2∗2−−−−√

=4–√

=2

Method 2: Re-write as a single radical with exponents, where the square root and the squared will cancel each other.

2–√∗2–√

=(2–√)2

=2
