  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the value of the expression.

            Given data:- \frac{-3}{17}\times\frac{5}{4}  .

            To find:- Value of given expression=?

             Solution:-

  • Multiplication is denoted by the symbol (\times).
  • Multiplication is a method to get the product by multiplying two or more values.
  • There are six properties of multiplication is given below:-
  1. Closure property of multiplication.
  2. Commutative property of multiplication.
  3. Associative property of multiplication.
  4. Distributive property of multiplication over addition.
  5. Identity property of multiplication.
  6. Zero property of multiplication.

       Therefore we get,

            \frac{-3}{17}\times\frac{5}{4}  \\=\frac{-15}{68}\\=-0.220.

           Hence we will get the value \frac{-15}{68}=-0.220 .

To solve : (\frac{-3}{17} ) \times \frac{5}{4}

Solution :

  • To find product of given rational numbers we simply multiply denominator and numerators of both rational numbers .
  • Therefore we have ,

                        \frac{-3}{17} \times \frac{5}{4} = \frac{-15}{68}

  • The product has negative sign as we know that multiplicative rule for integers says that any negative integer multiplied b positive integer gives us negative product .i.e  .(-) \times (+) = (-)

Hence , (\frac{-15}{68} ) is the correct answer .
