Answer:

(-4xy3) × (6x2y) = (-4 × 6) (x ×x2) (y3 × y) = -24x3y4

For x = 2 and y = 1

(-4xy3) × (6x2y) = (-4 × 2 × 13) × (6 × 22 × 1)

= (-8) × 24 = -192

And, -24x3y4 = -24 × 23 × 14

= -24 × 8 × 1 = -192

∴ For x = 2 and y = 1, it is verified that

(-4xy3) × (6x2y) = -24x3y4
