Multiply and find the value when m = 4 and
n=-2.
(1) (3m - 2n) n square2
(ii) mn (5m + 4n)
(iii) (m + n) x (2m + 1)
(iv) (4n -- m) x (m - 2n)

Answer:

i) (3m - 2n)n²

= [(3×4) - 2×(-2)] (-2)²

= [12 - (-4)] × 4

= (12 + 4)×4

= 16 × 4

= 64

ii) mn(5m+4n)

= 4(-2)(5×4 + 4(-2))

= (-8)(20 - 8)

= (-8)(12)

= -96

iii) (m+n)(2m+1)

= [4+(-2)][2×4 +1)

= (4-2)(8+1)

= 2×9

= 18

iv) (4n – m)(m – 2n)

= [(4×(-2) – 4][ 4-2(-2)]

= (-8-4)(4+4)

= -12×8

-96
