According to BODMAS, we'll deal with the brackets first

-1/7 * 5/6, we'll multiply this like normal to get -5/42

4/21 * -3/2, same, simply multiply to get -12/42

Now we can subtract

-5/42 - (-12/42)

-5/42 + 12/42

= 7/42

For the second question, we need to get the denominator's same for the first bracket

3/5 - 1/3

We do this by multiplying the fraction to get both denominators to their LCM

LCM of 5,3 = 15

3/5 * 3/3 = 9/15

1/3 * 5/5 = 5/15

Now we can subtract

9/15 - 5/15 = 4/15

Second bracket, 15/16 * 8/9

= 120/144

= 5/6

Now for the final step, the addition of the two, we need to get both denominator's similar again, LCM of 15 and 6 is 30

4/15 * 2/2 = 8/30

5/6 * 5/5 = 25/30

Now, add 8/30 + 25/30

= 33/30

= 11/10 (Or 1 1/10 as mixed fraction)
