HERE'S THE ANSWER...

_______________________

=> ( x + 2 y ) ( 3 x - 7 y )

=> 3 x^2 - 7 x y + 6 x y - 14 y^2

=> 3 x^2 - x y - 14 y^2

=> 3 x^2 - 14 y^2 - x y

Hey there!!

Here's your answer..

We have to multiply (x + 2 y) and (3 x - 7 y)

(x + 2 y) (3 x - 7 y) = (x)(3 x) - (x)(7 y) + (2 y)(3 x) - (2 y)(7 y)

= 3 x² - 7 x y + 6 x y - 14 y²

= 3 x² - x y - 14 y²

So, 3 x² - x y - 14 y² is the required answer.

In these kind of problems, you have to multiply it as if you are doing normal multiplication but with variables. Be sure to take care of sign as it plays a major role.The reverse process of this may be considered factorization.

Hope it helps!!
