peas after harvesting wheat.

(2) Peas are leguminous plants so they contain Rizobium bacteria in their root nodules which are symbiotic nitrogen fixtures. So they convert atmospheric nitrogen into nitrogenous compounds and therefore increase the nitrogen content of soil.
